The game is four hours. The commercial and social calendar around it runs from the Thursday, and for most principals that is the part worth being in the city for.

Aircraft and slots
Host-city airports run slot restrictions and ramp limits over the weekend. Private movement has to be filed early or it does not happen at all.
Stay
Close, or not at all
Traffic management closes whole districts on the day. A room inside the perimeter is worth more than a better room outside it.
Dates, tiers and price come back together, and only once the route is confirmed. Nothing here is held until you ask for it.
